Training for Medical Professionals
We will assist you to speak clearly and effectively in your role as a medical professional. We have programs developed specifically for people working in the medical field.

Our program is tailored specifically to your speech needs. Appointments are individual and are made at a time that is convenient for you. The first appointment is a full assessment of your speech and a discussion of your speech goals, it is then followed by the training appointments.

We have intensive programs and workshops for people in Melbourne for a short time.
In 6 appointments (level 1) you will:
- have a full speech assessment
- learn what areas of your speech require improvement and why
- learn the correct positions for sounds (vowels & consonants) that are difficult for you
- improve your use of stress, rhythm and linking (very important areas)
- receive 5 speech practice CDs
- improve your pronunciation for language relevant to your career in the medical field
- improve your speech clarity for job interviews
- learn to use the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) (optional)
- learn to understand and use important English / Australian expressions
- improve your spoken English generally (some grammar and conversation)
- receive a Speechmatters Program Certificate Level 1
- learn tips on how to improve your English pronunciation in the future

Following appointments:
Many people continue the program after completing the first 6 appointments. If you do so, you will continue to:

- work on the areas of your speech that still require improvement
- focus on and improve your use of sounds, stress, rhythm and linking
- receive a speech practice CD at every appointment
- improve your spoken English for your career and in day-to-day life
- receive a Speechmatters Certificate for English Pronunciation Training for Level 2 or 3 etc

$495 for 6 individual appointments and 5 tailored speech CDs.
> Private Health Insurance eg. Medibank HBA, MBF.
Private Health Insurance providers may refund part of the cost
of this service. Contact your health fund to find out if you
are covered for Speech Pathology.
> Discuss the program with your employer, or Medical College or Association.
Some employers may provide funding or part funding for you to attend the program. If they are not able to provide funding, many employers are very supportive of their staff attending
this service and are willing to allow
staff time to attend the service during work hours. Your employer will also benefit from your improved communication skills.
