Individual Intensive Programs
Attend a Speechmatters individual intensive programs if you are in Melbourne for a short time or will find it difficult to attend appointments during business hours.
Intensive programs are flexible, contact us to discuss an intensive schedule to suit you.
An intensive program begins with an assessment of your speech, followed by training with one of our English pronunciation specialsts to improve the areas of your speech that require improvement.
It is preferable to attend appointments on a fortnightly basis because this allows time for you to practise in between each appointment using the materials provided. However, if you unable to do this an intensive program is a time efficient alternative
We suggest one of the following:
> two 3 hour sessions (total 6 hours). So that woud be two 3 hours sessions held on two different days. The break in between could range from a few days to a few weeks.
> a one day intensive program, 6 hours 9.30am to 4.30pm with a break for lunch.
In the 6 hours (level 1) you will:
- have a full speech assessment
- learn what areas of your speech require improvement and why
- learn the correct positions for sounds (vowels & consonants) that are difficult for you
- improve your use of stress, rhythm and linking (very important areas)
- receive multiple speech practice CDs
- improve your pronunciation for language relevant to your career
- improve your speech clarity for job interviews
- learn to use the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) (optional)
- learn to understand and use important English / Australian expressions
- improve your spoken English generally (some grammar and conversation)
- receive a Speechmatters Program Certificate Level 1
- learn tips on how to improve your English pronunciation in the future
- and much much more!
Following appointments:
Many people continue the program after completing the first 6 appointments. If you do so, you will continue to:
- work on the areas of your speech that still require improvement
- focus on and improve your use of sounds, stress, rhythm and linking
- receive a speech practice CD at every appointment
- improve your spoken English for your career and in day-to-day life
- receive a Speechmatters Certificate for English Pronunciation Training for Level 2 or 3 etc

> Prepay for 6 or more appointments and receive a discount.
$495 for 6 individual appointments and 5 tailored speech CDs.
> Private Health Insurance eg. Medibank HBA, MBF.
Private Health Insurance providers may refund part of the cost
of this service. Contact your health fund to find out if you
are covered for Speech Pathology.
> Discuss the program with your employer
Many of our clients receive funding or part funding from their
employer to attend the program. Many companies provide their
staff with a Professional Development allowance or study allowance.
Employers are most often very supportive of their staff attending
this service and are willing to assist with payment and /or time to attend the service during work hours. The company
you work for will benefit from your improved communication skills.
